THE 22ND INTERNATIONAL WATER MIST CONFERENCE (#IWMC2023) ...

... will as always be organized by IWMA, the International Water Mist Association.

In 2023, this event will take place in Copenhagen, Denmark, on 11th and 12th October. The official conference hotel will be The Copenhagen Marriott Hotel (address: Kalvebrod Brygge 5 in 1560 Copenhagen V). It offers ideal conference facilities and is an ideal starting point to explore the sights of the Danish capital.

    

This event - which is recognized as the top source of the latest technical information on fire protection with water mist - will be as international as ever.

IWMA expects well over 120 delegates from more than 20 countries. Speakers will talk about the latest developments in the field of fire protection with water mist.

Dear Speakers, the final versions of presentations are due on 4th October 2023!

After the conference all presentations (and if applicable papers) will be published on the IWMA webpage. If you do not want your presentation and/or paper to be published, please inform the IWMA head office.

Please inform the IWMA head office in due time if you will be using the PC that will be provided or if you will use your own laptop. If videos are included, it is in most cases better to use your own computer. If you would like to use your own device, please also bring the necessary cables!

There will be a technician assisting you during the conference whom you can approach with your questions and requests! Please check if your presentation is showing and running properly well ahead of your time slot (i.e. during one of the coffee breaks).

No matter whether you choose to use the PC provided or not: Please bring your presentation on a memory stick and have it with you in the conference room!

A photographer will take pictures of you giving your presentation. You will receive a selection of photos after the conference! IWMA will use the photos for publications in magazines and on their webpage. If you do not want your picture to be published, please inform the IWMA head office!

Should you wish to submit a paper, please stick to the following specifications:

  • Use a graspable title that reflects the content of your paper and keep the message that you wish to convey in mind at all times
  • Ideally, the title of your paper should be identical to the title of your abstract / presentation. Should you wish to give your paper a different title, please mention in the subheading what abstract / presentation your paper is based on!
  • List all authors if more people than you have contributed to the paper
  • Structure your paper (introduction: introduce your argument / middle part / result: summary and outcome) … in the middle part you are free to use text passages, tables, diagrams, statements etc. that underline your message. Make assumptions, talk about limitations etc.

In case of a fire, valuables like buildings or other assets and particularly humans have to be protected as well as possible. That is why all buildings must be planned, built and maintained with fire safety in mind. To achieve an adequate fire prevention scheme, the strict harmonization of all these issues is of the essence.
The Deutsche Institut für vorbeugenden Brandschutz e.V. (DIvB) consider themselves as partner for public, politics and business regarding all questions concerning fire safety and prevention.
DIvB bundle state-of-the-art knowledge about fire technology, support academic research and exchange amongst national and international experts, thereby contributing a vital part to an overall building security.

IFAB is a specialized fire consultancy, research and engineering office having the headquarter located in Berlin, Germany. IFAB works very internationally and advise, design, plan and simulate for manufacturers, contractors, authorities and other engineering offices. Beside the classic fire safety consultancy work, such as fire safety concepts, expertise service and fire safety planning, IFAB works with very difficult cases like different industrial hazards and transportation. In addition to consultancy and design services, IFAB has an accreditation as a fire test laboratory. IFAB has specialised for the testing water-based firefighting systems, especially water mist systems. The experience is gathered from over 2000 fire tests.  

 

 

 

RISE Fire Research is located in Trondheim, Norway, and we are Norway's fire technical competence center. Together with RISE - Safety and Transport in Borås, Sweden, we constitute one of the world's largest research organizations on fire. RISE Fire Research offers fire testing, documentation, research, and consultancy services.
We are represented in the European Commission's "Fire Sector Group for Notified Bodies" and an active member in EGOLF, the European body for organizations that carry out fire testing, inspections, and certification. We work on applied research in various subjects, such as extinguishing, tunnel safety, wildfires, and jet fire."

The exhibition area is inside room Vesterhavet 2. The tables will be marked. Your parcels will be placed next to your table.

The conference will take place in room Vesterhavet 1 which is next to the exhibition space.

The set-up times for the exhibition are:

  • Tuesday, 10th October 2023 between 19.00 and 21.00 p.m.
  • Wednesday, 11th October 2023 between 7.00 and 9.00 a.m.

The space allocated to each sponsor will be approx. 3 square metres. The tabletops are rectangular and measure 1.80 x 0.60 m. Skirtings will not be provided. Two chairs per table / sponsor / exhibitor will be provided. The ceiling height is 4.25 m.

  • The exhibition will close on 12th October at 12.00 p.m.
  • The get out must be completed by 4 p.m.
  • All sponsors must take care of the removal and/or reshipment of their goods!!!

All exhibitors having booked a courier to pick up their materials are kindly requested to:

  • make sure that the courier collects the material within 24 hours after the end of the event!
  • label their materials - the company name and address must be clearly marked on each box!

Cancellation: If after registration you find yourself being unable to attend the conference, you may change the name of the attendee without any additional costs. Cancellation less than four weeks prior to the conference will be charged with 20% of the conference fee. Cancellation less than one week prior to the conference will be charged with 50% of the conference fee. There will be no refund if you cancel your registration later than 9th October!

Force Majeur: IWMA cannot be held liable for any event that may occur due to force majeur that may lead to changes of programme, cancellation of services and additional costs to attendees.

Data privacy policy: IWMA as organizer of the conference will use the attendees' data to process the registrations and to organize the conference. Furthermore, IWMA will provide information about future events and latest development in the field of fire protection and will therefore add the attendees names and e-mail addresses to the newsletter mailing list. If you should disagree now or later, please send a short notice to the IWMA headquarter.

Attendee List: At the beginning of the conference an attendee list will be distributed. There will be no e-mail addresses on this list. However, IWMA will hand out contact details when asked for. Photos: During the member meeting as well as during the conference itself photos will be taken. These photos may be used at a later stage in articles for magazines, to promote future IWMA events etc. If you should disagree with your image being used for such purposes, please send a short notice to the IWMA headquarter.

Registration / Acceptance of new members: Delegates may only register as members, and profit from the special prices which are reserved for IWMA members, if they have been accepted by the board and have paid their membership fee.
