The Client: This iconic beachfront property, formally known as Somerset Legion House, was a British Legion Hotel from 2007 until 2020 offering past members of the armed forces and their families the opportunity to holiday by the sea. The PG Group acquired the mock Victorian building and, after changing the name to Promenade House, converted the former hotel into forty-two seafront apartments. A mixture of one and two bedroom open-plan apartments, many featuring uninterrupted sea views due to the building’s prime location on the waterfront.
The Project: Quantum Fog was approached to design, install, and maintain a fire suppression system for the newly converted apartments in North Somerset. The expert fire suppression company opted for the iCO® high pressure water mist suppression system due to its versatility. The iCO® system allowed the entire building to be protected by two sets of twin pumps, located in a central plant room. The fire suppression system is checked and maintained every year by Quantum Fog as part of an annual maintenance package. This ensures the system will continue to perform as intended.
