First commercial Building in Latvia equipped with a Water Mist System

IWMA Member ArcoFire implements Latvia's first Water Mist Solution in Class A Office Complex

SIA ArcoFire, one of the leading full-cycle fire protection solution providers in the Baltics, has successfully completed the installation of an automatic water mist fire suppression system in the Class A office complex “Satekles Business Center” located in Riga’s central business district. The project marks a significant milestone in Latvia’s fire safety sector—it is the first commercial building in the country where this type of technology has been used to protect people and property.

Water mist systems are becoming increasingly in demand in modern construction due to their high extinguishing efficiency and sustainability. Compared to traditional sprinkler systems, they use up to 85% less water, thereby reducing both resource consumption and potential secondary damage to the building and its interior. Only water is used as the extinguishing agent, making the system safe for both people and the environment. The reduced water volume also enables faster recovery of building operations after an incident and lowers financial losses.

“The implementation of water mist technology in a commercial project of this scale marks a new stage of development in the fire protection industry in Latvia. Our goal is not only to follow industry trends, but to shape them—by offering clients safer, smarter, and more sustainable solutions,” says Zintis Zābers, Chairman of the Board of ArcoFire.

As part of the project, ArcoFire delivered a comprehensive fire protection solution, including an atrium protection system to limit fire spread and smoke development, a façade protection system, and custom-colored water mist nozzles that seamlessly integrate into the interior design. Low-pressure pump units with optimized water and energy consumption were installed, along with a stainless-steel piping network to ensure long-term durability and reliable system performance.

In addition to the water mist solution, the company also installed a gas extinguishing system for server rooms, an internal fire hydrant system, and a custom-developed fire safety automation system that integrates all fire protection systems into a unified control platform.

The “Satekles Business Center” project demonstrates that modern fire protection technologies can simultaneously protect people, critical infrastructure, and architectural quality, while harmoniously complementing building design and supporting sustainability goals. Through the implementation of this project, ArcoFire continues to strengthen its position as a company that introduces advanced fire protection solutions in the Baltic market and sets new standards for building safety.

The company expresses its gratitude to all project partners for their professional collaboration and contribution to the successful realization of this important project.
