IWMA Members confirm Kristian Hox in Office and bid farewell to long-serving Director

Luciano Nigro (Jensen Hughes) steps down from Position as IWMA director due to approaching retirement

The International Water Mist Association (IWMA) has strengthened its Board of Directors with the election of two members at its annual members’ meeting on 6 October.

Kristian Hox of RISE Norway, who has served on the Board in an interim capacity since November 2025 following the departure of his former colleague Robert Mostad, has now been officially confirmed as a Director.

Hox brings a strong focus on innovation and the continued development of water mist technology. When he joined the Board in 2025, he outlined his ambition to help position IWMA as a driving force for innovation in the field and to raise the international profile of water mist as a sustainable solution for fire protection.

The election also marks a new chapter for the IWMA Board. After 15 years of dedicated service, Luciano Nigro of Jensen Hughes is stepping down from his position as Director.

His colleague Paolo Bigatti, also of Jensen Hughes, stood for election and was elected by a vast majority of IWMA members.

With Hox now confirmed and Bigatti joining the Board, the IWMA continues to benefit from a strong combination of experience, technical expertise and fresh perspectives as it works to advance water mist technology and its role in sustainable fire protection.
