IWMA Members elect new Scientific Council Chairman

Bogdan Raciega (Baltic Fire Laboratory) takes over from Max Lakkonen (IFAB)

At the 2024 IWMA member meeting, which took place in Antwerp, Belgium, on 17th September, the members of the International Water Mist Association elected a new scientific council chairman.

Two candidates had applied for the job: Kemal Sarp Arsava (RISE Norway) and Bogdan Raciega (Baltic Fire Laboratory).

Bogdan Raciega, who also acts as IWMA representatives at the European Commission / Fire Safety Expert Group, won the ballot and now steps in Max Lakkonen's footsteps.

Max Lakkonen (IFAB) had given up the position after only one year, since he was elected the new IWMA President. He follows in Are Brandt's footsteps who - according to the articles of the association - had to step down after two terms (= six years).
