Installation of Aquasys system in 32 km long railway tunnel runs as planed!
IWMA member Aquasys pioneers with a state-of-the-art Water Mist Fire Suppression System, ensuring safety in the 32.8 km Koralmtunnel, a vital link in the European railway network.
Main target is the protection of the evacuation areas located around mid of tunnel length, a major challenge was ensuring the safe evacuation of passengers in the presence of high voltage train cantenary and the simultaneous activation of water mist. The safe operation of Aqausys' firefighting system in areas with high voltages of up to 65 kV was demonstrated through extensive tests in the high-voltage laboratory at Graz University of Technology.
