IWMA Member IBS have updated their Scope

IBS (Institut für Brandschutztechnik und Sicherheitsforschung) have been a member of IWMA for many years. As all IWMA members, IBS constantly strive for enhancement. The accredited testing, inspection and certification body for fire protection is based in Austria and operates in Central Europe as a notified body. Their field of work include:

  • Fire tests for materials testing
  • Product examination and trials
  • Approval tests for technical fire protection systems
  • Assessments and reconstruction attempts for investigating fires
  • Inspections

IBS is accredited according to ISO/IEC 17020, ISO/IEC 17025 and ISO/IEC 17065.

IBS has now announced that their updated accreditation scope is now available on their website.

Updates have been made particularly in the area of "Fixed firefighting systems - water mist systems" and further components of the EN 14972 standard have been included in the scope of accreditation. As a result, tests based on EN 14972 Parts 1, 3, 6-11 as well as 14-17 are now possible in the accredited area.
