a move that will turbocharge the evolution of high-pressure water mist. With the merger, the two companies have pooled their experience and expertise, and their reach and resources, to take sustainable and efficient fire safety to new heights – and grow stronger together.
High-pressure water mist completes the Siemens Sinorix™ fire suppression portfolio and advances the transition to environmentally friendly firefighting. The merger thus makes perfect sense from a solution perspective, creating a complete portfolio that includes detection and alarm, suppression and extinguishing, and software/cloud solutions.
The combination of resources will also help accelerate the development of future fire suppression solutions. The Siemens Smart Infrastructure Buildings business, which includes fire safety, is active in more than 60 countries and has a staff of +30,000, giving it the necessary muscle to push R&D and engineering efforts in response to changing requirements – and the purchasing power, supply chain, and manufacturing network to cut costs, optimise resource usage, and increase efficiency.
The global Siemens go-to-market and service network is making quality high-pressure water mist systems readily available to even more customers and partners worldwide. In addition, Siemens IT resources will enhance aftermarket and digital services, for example by developing digital offerings that allow us to evolve from prescriptive to predictive service.
Danfoss Fire Safety A/S spearheaded the development of water mist technology in the 1990es, and we have more than 50 years of experience in fire safety for commercial buildings, tunnels, industry, ships and offshore platforms. As part of Siemens, we will build on our past achievements to take water mist technology to new heights and develop solutions that satisfy evolving fire suppression requirements in many different industries and markets.
And we will do so in close cooperation and constant conversation with customers, authorities, and other stakeholders. That is why Siemens is Platinum sponsor of the International Water Mist Conference[RG1] in Manchester, UK, on 24 and 25 September. We hope to see you there and get your perspectives on the future of water mist technology.
