ESL (Emirates Safety Laboratory) recently announced the start of a partnership with IWMA member BFL (Baltic Fire Laboratory). The plan is to support each other with essential testing services as needed mutually. This synergy aims to streamline project lead times and fulfil clients’ specific requirements efficiently.
As an ISO/IEC 17025 accredited laboratory recognised by IAS, ESL is poised to assist Baltic Fire Laboratory’s local and international clientele. Their facilities are equipped to test a wide range of products, systems and assemblies.
Bogdan Raciega says: "An incredible week in Dubai, United Arab Emirates at the Intersec Excpo resulted in a partnership with the Emirates Safety Laboratory (ESL), a cooperation that we could have only dreamed of a few years ago when the Baltic Fire Laboratory (BFL) was launched.
Having great ambitions to create something really specialized and narrow at BFL, characterized by high quality of services, i.e. full-scale fire tests for active fire protection systems, and at the same time being involved in creating standards for these innovative systems in difficult times when the standards do not always meet development of technology. We are glad that we have been noticed as a partner to be reckoned with not only in the region, but also in the world.
Effective from 1st of January 2024, ESL will be responsible for evaluating and producing the Certificate of Conformity (COC) for all fire and life safety product products and systems intended to achieve Dubai Civil Defence H.Q. product registration and to be procured for Dubai Construction projects. Our commitment as BFL is to support ESL and Dubai's 2030 vision to make Dubai a global center of excellence for fire testing and conformity assessment services.
A huge thank you to David C. and his passionate team ready to work with the Baltic Fire Laboratory."
