Just recently, IWMA member Mohamed Hamdy Sorour (Deutschland Technology) was invited to join the NFPA 750 technical committee. Mohamed will act as principal special expert for the Middle East.
NFPA 750 is the US standard for water mist fire protection systems. According to NFPA, this standard protects life and property from fire through the standardization of design, installation, maintenance, and testing requirements for water mist fire suppression systems.
Other representatives from within IWMA are Max Lakkonen (IFAB) and Rüdiger Kopp (Fogtec) for NFPA 750 and Henrik Abrahamsen (VID Fire-Kill) for NFPA 25, the US standard for inspection, testing and maintenance of water-based fire protection systems. NFPA say: NFPA 25 is the baseline for inspection, testing, and maintenance of water-based fire protection systems. Compliance helps maximize system integrity to avoid failure and ensure fast, effective response in a fire emergency.
